Software Development Manager (Frontend)
Job Summary

As a part of our Digital Platforms organization, the Software Development Manager will be responsible for building and leading a team of developers that will cover all aspects of web and mobile development. The ideal candidate for this role is extremely hands on, demonstrates technical excellence, solid engineering principles, and exhibits strong people development skills. In this role, the ideal candidate would be well-versed in the technical design, development, and delivery of custom web and mobile applications, and have a thorough understanding of modern frontend development technological stack.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and drive the development, taking responsibility for the overall planning, execution and success of assigned projects. Manage all software deliverables and production issues.
  • Communicate schedules, priorities and project status effectively to all levels.
  • Contribute technically to the project and perform critical code reviews.
  • Develop and grow engineering talent through effective mentoring, coaching, succession planning and retention strategies.
  • Train new employees, develop technical and soft skills of team members.
  • Inspire, motivate and resolve conflicts within team.
Knowledge, Skills and Competency
  • B.Sc/B.Eng in computer science, computer engineer, or relevant fields.
  • 8-10 years of experience in software development in mobile or web applications.
  • 3-5 years of people or project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading personnel, technology, and process.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodology.
  • Exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Expertise with one or more mobile/web development languages (Swift, Java, Kotlin, Dart, JavaScript) and markup languages (HTML, CSS, etc.).
  • Extensive experience using one or more development frameworks/libraries (iOS SDK, Android SDK, Flutter, React Native, ReactJS, NodeJS).
  • Solid interpersonal, written and verbal communication with a good command of English.
  • Ability to influence others both within and outside of immediate team to achieve results.
  • Curiosity to learn about new technologies, and ability to quickly grasp and make effective use of it in projects.
